Last week, I showed maps of the locations of the NASDAQ-100 companies. In order to provide a little broader market representation, today’s maps show the locations of the 256 information technology sector companies that are in the S&P-1500 stock index.
The S&P-1500 Tech maps also show significant differences across regions similar to the previous NASDAQ-100 maps. The same set of views of metropolitan regions are shown as before. Unlike the NASDAQ-100, the S&P-1500 is a U.S.-based stock index. With the larger number of companies, other regions show technology concentration.
The first map shows an overview of the U.S. This image is not interactive. Google maps limits the number of pushpins per map to 200. In order to show all 256 companies, this image is a composite of 2 maps. Later views do provide interactive access to the underlying 2 maps.

To see the map and pushpins on the following map views, javascript needs to be enabled in your browser for google.com and gstatic.com.
As before, when you select a pushpin icon, a popup balloon will show company information; and you can navigate and zoom around around the maps. To see all of the listed companies in a metropolitan area, you may need to zoom or pan.
